Frequently Asked Questions

How long am I supposed to leave my VitaJuwel gem vial in my water?
Vitajuwel suggests that you leave the gem vial in a full decanter of drinking water for 7 - 10 minutes to get the full experience.

How do I clean my VitaJuwel gem vial and my VitaJuwel decanter?
The gem vials and decanters are NOT dishwasher-safe.Wash them by hand using lukewarm water. Do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaners. To remove lime scale from inside the decanter, fill it with water and 2 tbsp. of white vinegar. Leave it overnight and rinse it very thoroughly with clean water the next day.

How long after I remove my VitaJuwel gem vial from the decanter will the water stay infused?
That depends a lot on the quality of the water you use to prepare your gemwater with and any sources of radiation nearby that might influence the water's structure. Experience has shown that filtered water with no nearby radiation stays infused for up to 2 days.

For how long do the gems emit their energy? Do I have to recharge the gem vial?
All of the crystals we use are hand-selected, natural pieces taken from the earth.  They are age-old and have been created in red heat, eons ago. They haven't lost their energy in the time since and we don't see a reason why they should in a human's short lifespan. However, feel free to use whatever crystal knowledge you have to recharge or programme your crystals as you wish.

Is my VitaJuwel gem vial very fragile? How do I handle it properly?

PLEASE be aware that they are made of glass. Handle them with the same care as a precious wine glass. Avoid impacts, blows or strokes. Don't drop it. Don't freeze, boil or microwave it. Avoid temperatures below 7 degrees Celsius and above 35 degrees Celsius.

How to care for my ViA water bottle.

  • Safety- Your VitaJuwel ViA includes a glass cylinder with a lid and a handcrafted gempod (bottom piece). Handle those parts with the same care as you would handle a precious glass-made drinking vessel. Avoid impacts, blows and strokes. Do not freeze, boil or microwave. Before each use make sure your VitaJuwel ViA and especially the gempod is free of damages. If it has cracks or other damages, STOP USAGE immediately. Damaged VitaJuwel products are not safe for usage and may cause physical harm. If you have swallowed and pieces from your VitaJuwel product SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION!
  • Cleaning- Please clean the bottle thoroughly prior to your first usage. The glass bottle, upper lid and the gempod should be washed by hand. The glass part of the gempod is screwed into the lower lid and can be unscrewed (gently!) for cleaning purposes. To remove limescale, use a squeeze of lemon juice or vinegar essence. Rinse the glass thoroughly afterwards.
  • Prevent Leakage- If you believe that your ViA might be leaking, please check if

o  both the upper lid and the gempod are screwed tightly and evenly on the glass part.

o  there is no water running between the glass part and the gempod while you fill your VitaJuwel Via. - spilled water in that gap may lead to the impression of leakage.

o  both the upper lid and the gempod have a (colourless) silicone washer inside.

  • Unusual Smell from the bottle- If you smell an unusual smell from your ViA stop use immediately and check for cracks in the gem pod. Please be aware that the gem pod has a safety feature inside the sealed pod. Just like the gas in your home has an alert of a gas leak with a strong smell so does the pod. If you smell a change in the water it could be that there is a crack in the glass and you should discontinue use and check immediately. If the gem pod is free from cracks then the lids might just require a thorough clean. We advise diluted lemon juice or vinegar.
  • More Information- Slight discolourations in the vial's liquid may result from the gems and are neither harmful nor do they impact the use. Gems are natural products and may vary in size and colour

Does my VitaJuwel gem vial also work with other beverages like juices or alcoholic drinks?
Yes, you can use the VitaJuwel gem vial with juices to reduce its acidy taste. The VitaJuwel Vino Vial softens the wine's natural acids and makes it taste smoother. Fill your decanter with a bottle of wine, place the gem vial in it and wait for 7-10 minutes.

How are the gem vials made?
Each of our VitaJuwel gem vials is handcrafted by master glassblowers in Bohemia. They use premium, lead-free glass and hand-selected gems. The process of heating, melting and cooling of a single vial takes about 24 minutes and is patented worldwide! All of our gems are fairly-traded. Before used in our gem vials, they are cleaned thoroughly in a special, 8-step process. The special liquid inside the gem vial prevents the crystals from getting mossy and the vial from getting dim. It's natural and harmless, even if accidentally swallowed.

Can I change the gems inside my gem vial?
The gem vials are sealed and it's not possible to change the blend of your gem vial. The most hygienic way to prepare gemwater is using sealed vials.

Can I combine different vials in one decanter?
We don't recommend doing that. It's a little bit like mixing apple juice with orange juice. You probably won't like it. Every blend of gemstones/crystals has been tested. Combination of different blends has not been tested.

What keeps me from preparing gemwater by simply placing the gems directly in the water?
In the past, gems were put directly in the water to prepare gemwater or "crystal elixirs" and therefore had to be cleaned regularly. Besides the cleaning issue, stones often also emit hazardous substances (e.g. bedrock). Those contaminations were consumed along with the water. Some healing crystals that can be used in external applications without a problem may even release toxic substances if they are placed directly in water.

The perfect way to avoid those issues is to use gem vials by VitaJuwel as the gems are sealed in the glass vial and infuse the water without having a direct physical contact.

Does gemwater taste different than regular water?
Almost all of our customers report a difference in taste between regular drinking water and gemwater. Even the different VitaJuwel gem blends are reported to taste different. The difference is often perceived as very subtle, as a change in the texture of the water.

What do I do when my gem vial gets damaged?
Before every use make sure your gem vial is free of any damages. If it has cracks or other damages, STOP USAGE immediately. Damaged vials are not safe for usage and may cause physical harm. The liquid inside the vial is NOT hazardous. If you have swallowed any pieces from your product SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION!
